The 2024 World Credit Union Conference (WOCCU), which was held in Boston, United States of America, started on July 21, 2024, at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Centre. This Premier Credit Union Event of 2024 provides the opportunity to learn and connect with credit union professionals from around the globe. World Credit Union Conference (WCUC) is the only global credit union conference geared towards financial services professionals in the credit union space. It is featuring thousands of attendees from more than 60 countries representing credit unions large and small. According to the WOCCU reports, there are 82,758 credit unions globally, distributed over 98 nations. These credit unions have more than 403 million members and an asset value of $3.6 trillion. The credit unions' penetration percentage is 13.9%.
👉 Awach Savings and Credit Cooperative proudly represented Ethiopia at the World Credit Union Conference in Boston. This prestigious event, attended by delegates from many countries worldwide, provided a platform for Awach SACCOs to showcase its achievements and contributions to the cooperative sector at a global scale. Mr Zerihun Sheleme Erensa, Founder and CEO of Awach Saving and Credit Cooperative Society, raised Ethiopia’s flag high.
